Amazing Race- Sixth Location

My last location is the Gangetic delta in India who's capital is Delhi. India is bordered by Pakistan, China, Nepal, Bangladesh, and Bhutan. The Indian Ocean borders it also. The GPS coordinates of the Gangetic delta are 4304 N 0822 E. Temperatures of 50 °C (122 °F) and higher have been recorded in parts of India during the summer and in December and January or the winter the mean temperatures are of 10–15 °C (50–59 °F) in Indian Himalayas. India is pretty tropical but has different settings throughout the country. India's history is more than just a set of unique developments in a definable process; it is in many ways, a microcosm of human history itself. This location is important because it is my last stop in traveling the world! The Gangetic delta is 5386.93 miles away from the Ebro river delta. I got here by a plane, and renting a car. It cost $2,039 for a hotel room, rental car, and flight. My trip around the world was great! It was fun and I learned that all places are different and every place has something interesting about it such as scenery, the river delta's themselves and historical buildings. But I have to admit I am defiantly glad to be home! and my family is glad to have me back to, it was a fun experience and if you ever had the chance I would advise taking the opportunity!

Amazing Race- Fifth Location

My 5th stop is at the Ebro River Delta in Spain, Europe and the capital of Spain is Madrid. The countries bordering Spain are Portugal, and France. This only touches one body of water the Atlantic Ocean. The GPS coordinates are 3729.33 N 4039.90 W. Spain's climate is around the same temperatures as I live in. Spain has beautiful features in some parts but others are differnt with lots of bulls and fighting, just like any other country had differences. The historical rate of growth of the delta is demonstrated by the city of Amposta. The Ebro River delta is 10041.67 miles away from the Burdekin River delta, Australia. I got to Spain by an air plane and using a rental car! It cost me $2,103 to do this and rent a hotel room. I only had one problem getting there when I switched planes I almost missed the next one to get on, oops! The biggest difference Australia is that there are not wild animals everywhere in Spain.

Amazing Race- Fourth Location

My fourth stop is the Burdekin River delta, In Queensland Australia. The capital is Brisbane. The countries bordering Queensland are the Northern Territory, New south Wales and South Australia. The two oceans surrounding this are the Pacific and Indian Oceans. The GPS coordinates are 3615.00 S, 0935.63 E. The weather is Very hot and humid, but very nice! Australia is beautiful with buildings and animals of many kinds! My favorites are the kangaroo and koala. The history of Australia began when dutch explorers first sighted the landmass in the 17th century. Theres nothing important that we chose about this place but I always have wanted to go there so its quite a experiment. It is 10,143.17 miles away from the Mississippi River Delta. I got to my fourth location by an air plane and rental car to travel in Australia. and No i didn't have any layovers but I had to switch a couple planes. It cost $2,350 to travel there including the hotel room flight and rental car, taxes included. I am feeling very good about my traveling and having a lot of fun in all the places I have gone too! and I'm excited to go to my two other destinations.

Amazing Race- Third Location

My third stop is at the Mississippi River delta, which is in the United states. And the capital is Washington D.C. The only countries that border it are Canada and Mexico. The oceans that borders it is the Pacific Ocean and the Atlantic Ocean. The GPS coordinates are N 29.6475, W 89.914. The climate of Louisiana which is the state it is in, is warm but also chilly at times. It is very nice and and beautiful here. A history that Louisiana has is the hurricane Katrina, and we chose this location because it is the Mississippi delta. The Mississippi River delta is 6784.5 miles away from the Nile River Delta. I got to my third location by an air plane, and it cost $1,705 for plane, room and car, including taxes. No i didn't have any problems i had to switch airplanes but none got canceled or anything like that. The only difference is that this location isn't all deserts and sandy.

Amazing Race- Second Location

The Second Location that I am visiting is the Nile River Delta, it is in Egypt who's capital is Cairo. The country's that border it are Libya and Sudan and also Saudi Arabia. The Indian Ocean and the Atlantic Ocean also border it. The weather in Egypt is hot and very dry cause its mostly desserts and sandy. The history in Egypt is pyramids and tomes. It is 7084.53 miles away from the ParanĂ¡ River delta. I got to my second location by using a map and traveling on a air plane and renting a car. To go from Buenos Aries to Cairo would cost $2,622 for the hotel and flight including taxes and fees.

Osteoporosis Report

3-11-09
Dear Granny,
I have been studying osteoporosis for the past two weeks and learned a lot and also found out things I thought were interesting! I wanted to write this to you because I know you're healthy, and it affects women who are older the most, and I thought of you!
Osteoporosis is one of the leading causes of bone fractures and breaks such as hip, wrist, spine and others. If you feel as if your bones are getting weaker and you are loosing strength you may want to consider having a bone density test! This test will give you the results in 2-4 days, and the test only takes 10-20 minutes.
I learned that fractures are mainly diagnosed by x-ray, telling if you have any broken bones. Then they will do another test most likely to see if you had a fracture by weak bones coming from osteoporosis possibly. When or if you do get diagnosed by it then they will be put you on medication. The doctor will tell you to take vitamin D and have a lot of calcium to help this. They also say to have a healthy lifestyle and exercise to stay strong and NOT to drink a lot of alcohol and to not smoke.
I hope that you like knowing that I have learned about osteoporosis and what I learned! I also hope that you know its out there and it wouldn't be random or unlikely to affect you. So maybe you learned something by me learning it and telling you!
Love you,
Kayla

Mideval Journal- Compare

My life in Medieval times is different from my life today because Today I only have 3 family members that live in my home and I go to school as only a seventh grader. My brother is older then me and we are pretty close and are usually together, we don't really have a lot of family time, we are usually doing our own things. The culture today is different because I don't usually play outside with friends we just hang out in sports or inside. In the government that I live in anyone can live in there. and you can walk whenever you want as long as there's not a curfew in your town, And the prices are kind of high but I think they are decreasing. Also today when we have performances like that they are at a circus! or at a special building.

With a bunch of other performers. It happened just last week! Nothing really caused this because it was a fun event that was planned for performers of the town. At this event My sister and I were performing and a bunch of other acrobats to see who got placed and won a prize of money!! i got to witness it because i was part of it. I was very happy and excited to be a part of it. Other people clapped and were talking and having a good time! Also at the end they passed out the prizes and announced 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places. Me and my sister placed 2nd. =]

mideval journal- Government

In Austria where I live I have Serbian Government, Jews were not allowed to live in Austria up until 1848 which i disagree with because I think everyone should have been able to live in this country no matter what religion. But one of the laws that i agree with was that children are not allowed alone when younger then 13 to roam the streets or buy food for parents etc. they must have an older sibling with them or an adult or parent! In my family we are Christian and we love the way that we live our life! Most of the time where i live in Austria no one has a problem with our government but sometimes people do have a problem with the way prices are in our towns, but we believe that they are quite high but they will hopefully drop and that we need more natural resources!

Memoir- car accident

Car
Accident

By:
Kayla

“Ahhh..What
was that?, Oh my goodness what happened?” I said.

“Its okay
Kayla, everything is going to be alright and no one's hurt. Just
don't worry,” My step-dad, Davey said.

I had so many
things racing through my head at this moment such as, Where's my Mom
and Josh? are they okay?, am I hurt?, do I feel okay?. I just didn't
know what was going on.

I was eight years
old and in second grade when we got into the car accident on Bar-ell
Hill in Newport, Maine. My-step dad was driving and he wasn't
expecting anything but a normal everyday drive. We were coming up the
hill and just reached the top, all of a sudden this other van went to
pull on a side street and they smacked into the left side or (drivers
side) of our van. I don't understand how they couldn't have seen us
but apparently they weren't paying attention. There was nothing he
could do but slam on the brakes before the car was going to hit us,
which didn't make much of a difference. The car hit us on the left
side while we were on our way to my grandparents house. They hit us
and when they did we flipped over into the ditch. Davey was driving,
my mom was in the passenger seat, I was in the middle seat and my
brother, Josh, was in the back seat. When it had happened I wasn't
really sure what had happened until I realized that we were upside
down and something bad was going on . The best thing that happened
during this horrible experience was that no one got hurt. I cried for
a while but that was mental because I was in shock. I was so upset I
didn't know what happened or why? My step-dad, mom and brother, Josh
were in the car. All I heard was a big bang, we had crashed and were
in the ditch. No one was hurt, but I was feeling like my whole life
had crashed in a short period of time, in a mere two seconds. We were
all happy once we knew everything was going to be okay and got home
to rest a little after this not so fun of a time.

We were driving in
a van, which got totaled so we got a new one! The people that were
driving in the van that hit us did not have insurance, and the woman
that was driving had a fake ID. It was great that we all had seat
belts on because the windows shattered, but my seat belt got wrapped
around me about two or three times because I wore the strap that goes
in front of your chest, in behind my back which was not safe. Now I
know that and I now always wear it in front of my chest, but I did
not get hurt. After we were all out of the car we sat on the hill and
the paramedics came over to make sure that no one was hurt. The
police had to come and talk to my Mom and step Dad about what had
happened, but by that time my cousin, Amy had came to pick me up, so
I could go home and not be in the middle of everything. When I got
home she comforted me and I started to feel better. Meanwhile my Mom,
Davey, and Josh were still at the scene of the accident.

When they got home
we were all upset, even though we knew everything was going to be
okay. I knew in my heart that everything was alright and I was glad
that everything was over. The biggest thing was that I didn't ever
want it to happen to me again. I remember to this day that I was
doing math homework for my second grade teacher, Mrs. Nichols and it
was due the next day. When we got into the crash I had lost my work
and couldn't find it. When we got out of the car my brother, Josh
found it on the ground outside of the van. It had little rips in it
and was grass stained. When I took it to Mrs. Nichols the next day I
told her what had happened, and she said that she was very sorry
about the crash and not to worry about my work.

Whenever
I think about the crash today, I always think that the only reason
that none of us got hurt was because my cousin Mandi that passed away
was with us and helped us through the accident. After a few days had
passed we had all mainly mentally recovered from this incident. I
was scared to even ride in a car for almost a year, but then I
finally overcame my fear. We got a new van, so we had a car to drive.
I was proud of my Mom. Even though she wasn't the one driving, she
was not scared to drive, which was good because she didn't worry
about getting into another crash! And to this day we haven't had even
the littlest crash with another car, Thank God.

One of the
interesting things about this crash was that in the week that it had
happened, I think it was the day after our crash, we were coming home
from Newport, and another crash had happened. This time it was across
the road, and if I remember right it was a one car crash. So my Mom
and I made sure the lady was alright and proceeded home. Once we got
home we talked for a while about our car accident and how happy we
were that it was done and over with!

The
thing I learned from this car accident was to always live your life
to its fullest because you never know when or what will come to
happen to you someday. In our case no one got hurt, but we all will
still carry this with us for the rest of our lives! I always thank
God that someone was with us on this day, so none of my immediate
family got hurt or possibly killed. So never be scared of a car
accident or any other bad incidents, I think in my mind that everyone
should always be prepared for something to happen! Remember wear your
seat belts and drive and ride safely because thats what I believe
saved my life and the the life of my family members!
